Lucky marketing plans !

Isn’t it strange how much luck has influenced the course of business recently.



I’m thinking of the Icelandic volcano’s impact on the tourist and travel industry. Then there’s the BP oil spill in Florida – the impact of this tragedy ranges from the local beeches to the fishing industry to the pension funds of some nice old English couple who have never even been to America.¬†



I guess we could throw our hands up in the air and say – “What the hell – there is no point in planning”. But I suspect that the old adage – “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”, remains true. There does seem to be a lot of luck involved in business these days but having clear goals and a clear plan to chart your course¬†seems like the best way forward. Meanwhile watch out for the iceberg !
